Pick of the Day: 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

Did you know that\xa0the Oldsmobile Cutlass got its name from Navy fighter jet called the Vought F7U Cutlass? Between 1948 and 1955, there were 320 such aircraft produced. The design was engineered for a crew of just one person and had a wingspan of about 40 feet with the wings folded. Maximum speed was a staggering 697 miles per hour. It is no wonder Oldsmobile chose to repurpose the name.

Pick of the Day: 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 454

Though Chevrolet was the biggest\xa0brand in the 1960s, there’s a lot of me-too conformity with its vehicles. For example, Chevrolet followed the pony car trend, the muscle car trend, and the personal-luxury trend. Our\xa0Pick of the Day, a\xa01970 Monte Carlo SS 454, is a great example of the latter. It is listed for sale on\xa0ClassicCars.com\xa0by a dealership in Mankato, Minnesota.

Pick of the Day: 1996 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Coupe

Chevrolet\xa0announced last March\xa0that the Camaro is going away – but perhaps only temporarily. General Motors stated, “This is not the final chapter for the nameplate.” Production ended at the end of December. As part of the going-away party, some sixth-generation Camaro models were sold as Collector’s Editions. The Camaro has been an American icon for decades.\xa0
