Dear -, \xa0 Yesterday’s primary results keep us at the bottom of the electoral heap, as the President has continued to garner support.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve had spectacular trips to Michigan, California, Washington, Georgia, Illinois and Arizona. Deep conversations and standing ovations were common, and I have absolutely no doubt that had we had the opportunity to truly take our campaign to the people, I would have been a contender at the highest level. I have seen the system from the inside, and it is not a pretty sight. But the conversation we have had and are still having is a real one, a true and authentic reaction to the dynamics of this moment of our history. And I have no doubt that we are planting seeds wherever we go. |
That is why I will continue to travel to New Orleans, New York, Oregon and perhaps elsewhere. We are having a conversation that is far more important than anything offered by the political horse race. That horse race, I have found, is one big business filled with some of the worst shenanigans you can imagine. But ours is a message that goes beyond that. We are aiming for the repair of our country.
To those of you who feel moved to keep chipping in, allowing us to make the most we can of the ballots we’re still on, I am deeply grateful. My friend Bishop Jack Bomar at Atlanta’s Hillside International Truth Center said to me when I was there recently, “See it all the way through.” And I intend to.\xa0 |
