The good, the bad, the special, the ordinary—it just meant we were together. My grandparents are from Dublin and moved to Queens where my Mom grew up—and in Sunnyside there’s a store where we have always gotten our ingredients from...oh and a lot of Irish chocolate too. It's calledThe Butcher Block, and it has the Irish essentials: taytos, flakes, club orange, black/white pudding, rashers, Brennan's batch and really everything else you can imagine. There, a casual conversation can be had with the Irish butcher about how to cook a proper fry, as he wraps your items in wax paper.
