Why Light MattersLike us, plants need sunlight to survive. It gives them the energy they need to photosynthesize, which is how they eat, breathe and grow. Without adequate light, their energy reserves become depleted, they may become lackluster in appearance or sadly die. Once plants come indoors, it's inevitable for them to change in lushness and appearance. If you notice any of these symptoms, you may want to try adjusting their access to light. - Thin "leggy" stems that reach towards light sources
- Long empty spaces on stems between leaves
- A significant amount of leaf drop
- Variegated plants with patterns or multiple colors growing new leaves that are mostly green
- Flowering plants that no longer bloom

If you’re struggling to give your plant enough light here are a few solutions: - Go easier on the watering, less light = less water, the elements need to be in balance
- If your plant is in a shadier spot, rotate regularly to give its foliage equal access to light.
- Ultimately, if you're risking a spot where there's really little light, you can try fulfilling its\xa0needs with an artificial grow light.
If you're able to move a plant from low light, make sure to do this gradually. Going from the dark to sudden direct light can be a shock, so try putting it in a spot with medium light for about one week before moving all the way to bright light.\xa0 |

Medium-Light Plants\xa0For areas about half the distance between a window and a back wall. These plants will do fine receiving steady light, though not necessarily direct.\xa0 |
