I recently saw an ad for one of your shirts that boasted it was 5-year tested with 43 flights, 57 washes, etc., and I thought I’d share an update with you about just how long your original Apollo shirt has lasted…

As a wedding photographer, I was on the prowl for a fabric that could breathe and stretch (stretch was a high priority as I had embarrassingly split my pants at a wedding once). Your clothes appealed to me as they checked all the boxes, AND I could save on dry cleaning by washing them myself. So in 2015, I purchased the Apollo dress shirt and the Aviator chinos—this was back when you offered free tailoring with a local Boston tailor.\xa0

I’ve since replaced the Aviator chinos (I loved them, but the black fabric faded and stiffened over time). However, I’m STILL wearing the same black Apollo shirt I purchased back in 2015 and recently did the math: I’ve spent roughly 3,600 hours in that shirt photographing over 400 weddings and events over nearly 9 years, which also translates into almost 500 wash cycles… and it still looks almost the same as it did the day I purchased it! We picked up a replacement back in 2021, but the Apollo is just too perfect to hang up, so I continue wearing it to every wedding. I've attached a few photos of what we wear (the headless torso photo was from last September in the Hudson Valley... the shirt still looks stellar after all these years!!).

Since 2015, we now wear full suits we also purchased from Ministry of Supply. Guests and wedding vendors often remark about how hot it must be to wear all black on hot New England summer days or when it’s close to triple digits here in the California desert, and we always tell them our secret: we never overheat and we’re always comfortable because we wear Ministry of Supply. I can’t count the number of colleagues we’ve turned on to your clothes!
