Hi Beautiful,
With each passing year, motherhood feels a little different. Last May, I had a barely-walking one-year-old and a sweet, skincare-loving tween. This year, I suddenly find myself with a completely feral two-year-old and a fabulous, full-blown teenager who has her skin routine down to a science. Where does the time go? Every season has filled me with awe, nostalgia, love, and not a small number of sleepless nights. With each new stage, I always return to the advice my mom gave me: find time for yourself to stay centered. While "time for myself" used to look a little different(hello lunchtime wine with a book as my date),now it’s all about my rituals.\xa0
In the morning, I take time to get my skin ready for the day with my go-toage-defying routine. At night, I wash away the day and applymy favorite trio, reflect on important moments with my kids, and settle in for the night.(Let's just call this middle-aged mom-core.) Today, I want to celebrate every kind of mom helping to care for someone else: stepmoms, mother-figures, adopted moms, aunties, godmothers, grandmas, mentors--and everything in between. We know it takes a village to raise kids. But it also takes a village to support the moms who do the hard work. We are in this together.
XO, Margi
