Strikingly similar to the United States, trading card collecting internationally hit a major peak at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic. With interest in The Hobby now at an all-time high, card shows have been popping up globally. The latest show to take center stage was in Ireland on February 24. The inauguralTopps Presents: The Dublin Card Showfeatured 110 vendor tables, and attendance eclipsed 1,500 card-crazy collectors. According toSports Collectors Daily, the show had an assortment of sports cards, trading card games (TCG), and sports memorabilia. Soccer and F1 cards were the most popular choices for collectors. There were also plenty of cards from big Ireland sports such as Gaelic football – which is a cross between rugby and soccer, and is closely associated with Australian Rules Football – and hurling. |
