The massively hyped Spring Breakout certainly lived up to the billing. Every MLB organization had its chance to showcase its best young talent on the field all at once. The four-day event left baseball prospectors wanting more. There were 900 players rostered for the Spring Breakout games – here are the top four performances that stood out to us.New York Yankeesoutfielder Spencer Jones, the team’s No. 2 overall prospect, went 3-for-4 with a pair of towering home runs totaling 826 feet. Jones’ 1st Bowman card is in the 2023 Bowman Baseball release.Tampa Bay Rays’ Xavier Isaac shook off a bum ankle, blasted two home runs and a double, and walked in his team’s 8-8 decision against theMinnesota Twins. Isaac’s 1st Bowman card is also in the 2023 Bowman Baseball product.Detroit Tigerssecond baseman/third baseman Jace Jung hit two home runs in his Spring Breakout game. The former first-round pick has his 1st Bowman in 2022 Bowman Draft.Pittsburgh Piratespitcher Paul Skenes continues to impress. In one inning of work, he struck out two hitters, includingBaltimore Oriolesphenom Jackson Holliday. Skenes, the No. 3 overall prospect in baseball, has his 1st Bowman in 2023 Bowman Draft. |

The first two months of 2024 featured some large card shows. However, March has upped the game. Last weekend, the Dallas Card Show and Chicago Sports Spectacular brought in flocks of collectors. These massive shows are just appetizers for collectors, who are champing at the bit for the granddaddy of them all: theNational Sports Collectors Convention.This year’s National will be held at the I-X Convention Center in Cleveland from July 24 to 28. The 2023 show in Chicago produced over 100,000 attendees, the largest show in its 43-year history. This year, The National could break another record. Get your ticket ordered and hotel booked, and save up all your cash. You’re going to need it.\xa0 |
With the brackets set, the 68 men’s and women’s basketball teams participating in their respective NCAA Tournaments are ready to make some memories. The men’s tournament will feature many of the top prospects for April’s NBA Draft. The University of Kentucky, which landed a No. 3 seed, has two potential top-10 draft picks in Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham. The guys, who are a great guard combo, have their 1st Bowman cards in2023-24 Bowman University Chrome. Colorado freshman Cody Williams has emerged as a top-10 selection; he is also featured in the 2023-24 University Chrome release. Top-seeded and defending national champion UConn has a handful of potential pro players. Donovan Clingan could be a lottery pick. The sophomore has some beautiful2023-24 Bowman U Bestcards. On the women’s side, everyone knows about Iowa star Caitlin Clark, who always steals the headline. And for good reason. But Stanford center Cameron Brink could be the No. 2 pick in the next WNBA Draft. Aaliyah Edwards, a top-five prospect, continues UConn’s string of great players. Angel Reese, who led LSU to the national title last season, is back for an encore. Brink, Edwards, and Reese all have their1st Bowmancards in the 2023-24 Bowman University Chrome product.
