There could be no better name for WWD’s annual West Coast conference than L.A.B., because California is the land where innovation is born. This year’s speakers at the forum, which was held on April 16 at The One in West Hollywood, bore that out. The event was centered around “Building, Selling, Thriving,” analyzing successive stages of business.
Presenters included music star and About-Face founder Halsey with their co-creator, Jeanne Chavez; celebrity hairstylist and entrepreneur extraordinaire Jen Atkin of Ouai and Mane with Michaeline DeJoria, CEO of JPMS; Christie Fleisher, the CEO of Benefit Cosmetics, Ritual founder Kat Schneider, Amazon’s Ali Kole and many more.
Key themes throughout the day included solution-driven innovations, the importance of strategic partnerships and the role of entertainment in cutting through the clutter.
