First off, the amount of submissions we received last week for our Photo Awards was absolutely crazy. It took a whole day just to download the files. We just started the process of going through them all, and from the tiny fraction of images I've seen, the quality of work is outstanding. This is going to be fun!

Fallen Leavesis a charming and tender love story from Finland's most prominent filmmaker and screenwriter Aki Kaurismäki (Le Havre, The Other Side of Hope). Set in modern day Helsinki, the film follows Ansa (Alma Pöysti) and Holappa (Jussi Vatanen), two lonely souls who meet by chance at a local karaoke bar. However, a series of obstacles — from small miscommunications to alcoholism — prove some happy endings are much harder to come by than others.
