[Fanmail Friday] Honestly， It’s Been Tough

I hope you all had a good week!

This week, on the family side of things...\xa0

It's been a tough one.

I prefer to keep my emails positive but the truth is sometimes parts of life hurt, and without the hurt we wouldn't appreciate the good times quite the same.

\xa0

Last Friday our 6-year-old found our kitty who had passed due to a freak accident.

\xa0

As a mom, I hate that he was the one to find the kitty he had known since he was born.

\xa0

I got our Whiskitty boy when I was pregnant with Emma, our oldest. I got him from the pound and just had an instant connection with him. The other cats just sort of looked at me but as soon as he saw me he began meowing and rubbing against the cage. It's like he wanted me. It took me but a moment to want him back.

He had been abandoned by his last family who moved and left him behind in a vacant house. The pound had only just recovered him so I had to wait a few days before he was available for adoption so I made sure to call dibs on him in all the ways they'd let me and show up exactly at the time he was available.

\xa0

I got him and couldn't have been happier.

\xa0

That was before I became a mom to humans...I was a cat mom.

\xa0

Highlights from throughout our time together include... him sharing the memory of Emma's first steps and stealing the show when he lovingly rubbed up against her and made her plop down, that time I thought it would be funny to see what would happen if I put his rump in a grocery bag and he walked everywhere backwards (it was quite hilarious), and that time I put him in a baby onesie.

Those silly memories came between countless sweet ones with him cuddling us, drooling on us, rubbing up against us, and greeting us with his excited meows.

Since his passing, we are hugging our two dogs extra tight.

Maple, our 1-year-old basset, has been entertaining us with her sweetness and floppiness while Dixie, our 5-year-old lab/terrier hasn't left Emerson's side.

Hug your fur babies, friends. They are so precious and tomorrow is not promised.

This week, on the business side of things...\xa0

I've been working on optimizing Facebook ads. They are quite tricky, but I'd like to welcome the handfull of new customers that have joined the Monthly Jewelry Club this week as a result of them.

Why is Emmett licking his lips you may ask? Well, he got caught sitting under the picnic table on our front porch eating that honey on the far side of the table. That's the same jar of honey he claimed in the store a week ago when he was shopping with his dad/my hubby Mason. Emmett opened it right up and snagged a lick. That boy has no shame and no matter how many times I day I clean his face, he always manages to maintain a level of stickiness. LOL I love him and am grateful I get to go on all of his wild adventures with him. He will be turning 3 in a little over a month and man, I don't know where the time is gone, but he is one little human I can't imagine life without.
