We’ve been less upfront than usual the past few winters, but we’re a New York brand through and through and that means it’s pretty much inevitable we get all up in your face and back to business at some point. That’s right theOUTLIER UPFRONTis back.\xa0

A gift card with benefits, real nice and juicy ones. For those of you who don’t recall how all this works here is the breakdown.\xa0

1 - Buy anOUTLIER UPFRONTgift card using the codeUPFRONT2024before Valentine's Day February 14th 2024 and you’ll get 15% off the cost of the card.
2 - The catch is the cards are not activated and emailed to you until leap years day, February 29th 2024, so you need to have a few weeks worth of patience. \xa0\xa0
3 - The gift card\xa0you buy then behaves like most other gift codes; you can buy things, exchange them, refund and the like. The minimum value you can buy is \\$200, the max \\$5,000.\xa0
4 - We reserve the right to cancel and refund any purchase we find suspicious or dubious in nature.
5 - Any refunds on the cards are for the value paid, not the card value. IE if you buy a \\$200 value card for \\$170 and refund it you get \\$170 back. If you spend half of it and refund the rest you will get \\$85 back.\xa0
6 - Just as a note this is the first time we’re running the Upfront via Shopify, our current e-commerce system, we’ve tested everything and it looks good but the first time is always scary so bear with us if there are any unexpected hiccups.

As for why we do this, we are a stubbornly bootstrapped company, we have no outside investors and we grow solely by reinvesting our profits back into the company. This gives us lots of freedom to make the products we love but it comes at a real cost. The winter months are our slowest while the spring ones that follow are some of the busiest. That means we need to spend money to prepare for spring while very little is coming in. The pandemic mechanisms created some temporary structures of that sort of financing, but things are mostly reverted back to the old ways, and the Upfront has historically been a really helpful tool for us to bring the products we love to fruition and we are super grateful for all that participate. And hey we think it’s a pretty good deal for you too.\xa0

Finally of course you might be wondering “upfront for what?” and that’s a very fair question. First off this year we are no longer taking it short with the new ways, strictly sevens and fives. But the Deux are getting their due too, maybe two soon, there is a decent chance we’ll see two of them before the Upfront even vests to carry. If you know us well you know, we’ve got a little bit of a linen injection habit, and this year we’ve got supplies lined up from both Portugal and New York. Last year's dyeing experiments have hopefully borne fruit, some of them linear and sporting, others skirting and gliding around the long line of the rave offshore and on camp and perhaps even oversized and raglaned. Meanwhile our dreams can’t wait any longer and our ramie lust can’t be topped. But the real juice comes in the new materials, as does the real risk. Linenfoils and Sunwarps, Photostats and Apaperycotton. The Trackwool is already off track but we’ve got eyes on a Nyco Gaze and Cannabiscotton as the sun blazes bright. Plus maybe a little something for the swimbags and lil bigs out there. That’s probably not it either, sometimes we forget, sometimes we surprise ourselves.
