SSG Edward A. Winkelman, 72, U.S. Army, born in Holland December 8, 1948, passed away on December 10, 2020. Winkelman served with multiple units in the Vietnam War, including 82nd Airborne Division, 25th Infantry Division, and the 75th Infantry Regiment. He took part in some of the most significant battles of the conflict, including the infamous Tet Offensive. Winkelman was a mentor, a leader, but above all, a great friend. For his service, he earned two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star with "V" device, and the Silver Star. Rest easy, Hero! Til Valhalla, Brother! |
