SP4 Ronald R. Earlywine, 39, U.S. Army, born in Indiana April 27, 1950, lost the battle with his demons on October 29, 1989. During the Vietnam War, Earlywine served as an Airborne Ranger with 1st Air Cavalry Division. As part of the reformed unit, which now utilized helicopters to reach terrain that regular infantry could not, he participated in reconnaissance, command and control, troop transport, and medical evacuation missions.
