Something interesting happened today...
\xa0
I noticed one of the area rugs in our living room was folded up so I asked the kids to unfold it so no one would trip.
\xa0
A few moments later I realized they were huddled together near the rug instead of fixing it.
\xa0
I asked again, "Please fix the rug kid."
\xa0
Emma: "But mom, why does the rug say Santa on the bottom?"
\xa0
Me: "What?"
\xa0
I notice 2-year-old Emmett running towards the rug, the kids are making noice, the baby is calling from me, and lunch is on the stove - I don't want to burn the grilled cheese!
\xa0
In frustration at this point I say, "Please fix the rug now. I don't want anyone hurt."
\xa0
Emma: Santa is spelled S-A-N-T-A right mom?
\xa0
Me: "Yes! It's probably a city name you are reading like Santa Monica, Santa Ana, or Santa Barbara. Now, can you please fix the rug?"
\xa0
Emma slowly walks back to the rug and I hear her say under her breath to herself (in COMPLETE seriousness), "Ahh..Santa probably lives there."
\xa0
Funniest. Moment. Ever!
\xa0
I just love her!

Aside from today's Santa festivities, Emerson hit a few balls at his first-ever baseball practice around the same time that Emma got her first two hits in a softball game a few cities away. I'm sorry I missed it Emma, but so glad your dad got a video!

Aside from that, my sister brought home peanut butter cookies which Emmett found and "disposed" of (thanks buddy!), and Luke was introduced to solids for the first time!
