It was my dad's birthday yesterday, and it's my sister's today, so we have a little BBQ planned for this afternoon. That should be fun!

The kids this week have been obsessed with their wood train tracks.

We have 3 types of toys that we rotate in and out of the garage as the kids lose and regain interest in them:

1. These giant plastic blocks in primary colors - think Legos on steroids!
They love to build forts, clubhouses, tables, chairs, cars, and anything else you can imagine with those. They were into these alot the week before last; every day building something new.

2. Wood train tracks and trains
They haven't been into this one since we got to our new house a year ago, so the set has been safely tucked away, but man oh man, this week it was raining trains! Each time they wanted a new track from the garage I made them trade a random toy they had laying around - we got alot of cleaning done! 😂

3. Random little toys
We have a sizable collection of happy meal toys, but not the cheap ones you see now, the ones from the 90s when those things could get run over by a car and be fine. The kids love those. This category also includes little stuffed animals, various arts and crafts sets, and toys I had from my childhood.

The trading of toys to the garage bins in order to "unlock" more toys has seemed to work better than anything else in terms of keeping a tidy home. Highly recommend!

Yesterday, they eventually ran out of toys to trade, so I let them continue to earn pieces of track by practicing their karate moves, coming up with dance moves, or doing chores. Hehe! #momwin
