Life is a bit quieter as my dad and my sister recently moved to Florida. While the change was quick and unexpected, I'm grateful for the season ahead and focusing on the kids. It was nice to have the time with them that we did.

The kids are still loving their baseball/softball teams, art class, karate, and American Heritage Girls (this one is just Emma but the boys play with the brothers of the other girls in the program during the meetings, so they all enjoy it).

I'm just trying to keep up with them!

I remember being in ALL the things when I was growing up, so I'm grateful they are thriving in an active life as well.

Aside from that, I'm enjoying tending to my strawberry plants (Mason and I made these really awesome self-watering garden beds out of some scrap wood we had, and the soil stays moist for weeks, and since it rains so often here I almost never have to water them, it's great! I still like to make sure runners find their way to soil, prune dead leaves, and keep the caterpillars elsewhere.

On a similar note, today I harvested my first grape tomato grown from my attempt at Kratky Hydroponics, which is basically just water+nutrient powder in a container with a tomato plant growing out of it (no soil, air pump, or electricity needed)..very cool! It takes 0 watering (you just have to keep the nutrients solution from running dry), you can do it in any random container (like a soda bottle or old milk jug), and it is super low maintenance (which is music to this mama of 4's ears - I only check on things about once per week and that's all it really needs).

If you're on the fence about gardening, or a seasoned gardener, I encourage you to give it a try! It's super fun!
